South India

A soulful pilgrimage and adventure retreat with Molly and Saji.

March 25 - April 7, 2024

Here we go…

…to the South of India where we will explore yoga, spirituality, culture and adventure. This retreat is for you if you are interested in expanding your perspectives, stepping out of your comfort zone to experience authentic culture and if you are willing to be transformed by a unique experience in Mother India.

This retreat will be led by Molly Cofman and Saji PK

The Adventure.

  • We will begin our journey in Varkala (arriving to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport), a southern beach town in Kerala.  During our time in Varkala, we will visit Janardhana Temple, Sivagiri Ashram, Kanyakumari (the southernmost point in India) and Azhimala Siva Temple.

  • From Varkala we will stop by Amma’s ashram on our way to Alappuzha, our departure point for two days on the famous houseboats of Kerala.  For two days and two nights we will sail the backwaters of Kerala living on a houseboat, with candle-lit evening practices and meditations and visits to local villages.

  • Upon disembarking, we travel to Chinmaya Ashram for a taste of ashram life, a special opportunity to reflect, and drink in the peace as we participate in the community of monastic life.

  • Our last pilgrimage will be to the Munnar area, the mountains just east of Kochi.  Here we will explore local culture, village life, light trekking and visit tea and spice gardens.

  • After drinking in the fresh air of the mountains, we will return to Kochi (departure from Cochin International Airport) to explore the town, with a special evening of Kathakali traditional dance.

  • All days accompanied of course by yoga and meditation practices led by Molly and Saji.

“Every culture is a bursting forth of life governed by landscape and its consequent storytelling. Every place holding a necessary and visible piece of the mystery and beauty of life. When we are humble enough to interact with these pieces as they are, which usually means abandoning temporarily the familiar, we are often granted astonishing insights to the meaning of life.” ~Molly

Requirements.

A sincere interest in yoga (all levels welcome!) and culture, a good sense of humour, humility and a willingness to see the world through the eyes of others. Things will not go as planned on this trip. This is a known in India. And all that does not go as planned will be better than what was planned. Things will also proceed in their own timing, despite our best efforts to be precise. Your willingness to go with the flow will make the experience more powerful and healing. Although we will be exploring spirituality, the point of this trip is JOY and wonder.

We look forward to welcoming you to South India!
